LATEST INFO.

SA KNEEBOARD PRO-AM

The SA Kneeboard Pro-Am is only a month away (28 August 2010).  It will be held in the best surf available on the south coast.  For write-up and entry form go the 'SA Pro Am' page, link under "CONTESTS" in column on left.

Just quietly Pinebox thinks he is a shoo-in. He is daring anybody to come and beat him.  Come-on you Kneeboarders let's make him eat his words.

Pinebox Wins in the Third Round of the State Titles

Phil Arthur (Pinebox) claims the third round of the State Titles held at Seaford (30th May 2010).  For story and photos see the State Titles page.

Lynda Martin (Maxi's partner) and Mad Dog sent me some great photos.  I have started a new Members Photos 2 gallery for these photos.  There is plenty of room for more photos in this gallery so send them in.  (See the Gallery page).  Hope to get some photos from Stylemaster's trip to Nias in the near future.

Just a few early reminders, the club mid-year dinner on 24th June and the Kangaroo Island Trip (can't wait) early August.

(20/03/2010)

Saturday 20 March 2010 was election day for South Australia and surfing day for a number of our club members.  A SMS message saw six of the club members hit the surf, rock hopping, the point west of Middleton Bay.  Terminator, Fangio, Paul (Francis) and Pinebox were tearing it up early.  Gun and Simon joined the party a few moments later.  Quite clearly it was good to get the State Titles behind them as Simon and PB caught all the big ones out the back, while the rest of us bounced from rock to rock on the smaller ones.  Fangio was shark spotting out back and later decided to join the rest of us.

Terminator converted his thruster into a twin fin after rock hopping.  Fangio suggest that he should pop a few fins, but he misunderstood.  It was a fun session, with lots of good rides.  The swell was clean with the occasional larger waves and the water was warm.  We had this part of Middleton to ourselves.  Gun's wife and daughter brought the camera out and took a few photos (see the Gallery Page).  Thanks Shaz and Becky for the photos.

(07/03/10)

Unfortunately the long week-end affected the numbers that attended the club meet.  However, Road Runner, Kimbo and Freddie enjoyed some clean lines at Seaford Reef.  A number of our members were at Yorkes and I am sure if the mid-coast on Sunday was any indication, Yorkes would have been pumping.  Hope you guys got some photos to show the rest of us.  Am I jealous?  Nah!! Maybe a little! .... All Right - A Lot!!!

A new photo album has been added to the Gallery page including some of the member's photos that have been forwarded to me.  I am saving a few for 'Photo of the Month' in future months.  Go to the Gallery Page and have a look.  I need more, and any suitable photos will be added to this album.

Just a few reminders.  The State Titles are on this week-end (13-14 April) and good-luck to all members who are competing.  (Remember - respect your elders, for those who are in my heat).  For those who are not in the State Titles, the first 2010 Club Trip to Yorkes Peninsula is on this week-end (13-14 April).  If you want to go get in touch with Craig Jacobs, if you have not done so already.  The next club meet is on the 4th of April, 2010 and as usual, meet at the Seaford Car Park 7.00 am.

The 2011 World Titles for Kneeboard Surfing will be held on Phillip Island 19th to 26th March 2011.  A page dedicated to the ISA World Titles (click on ISA World Titles under Contests in the index column on the left) has been added to this Website.  On this page you will find an article written by Phil Arthur on his participation in the 2009 World Titles in New Zealand.  A link to the 2011 World Titles web site has also been added.  Phil still has some World Title raffle tickets for sale, details on the World Titles page.

If you have any photos of members surfing, please send them in, I am trying to build up a small J-album of members photos which will be added to the gallery page.  Thanks to those who have sent some in.

2010 CALENDAR UPDATED

The Committee has been working overtime and have updated the 2010 Calendar (just go to the link).  Dates have now been set for the club trips with the first being next month to Yorkes.  Please let Craig know if you are intending to go on the Yorkes trip on March 13/14.  He is in charge of organizing accommodation and will need to know definite numbers by Feb 20. Options for accommodation include using own on site vans and/or tents in the Marion Bay Caravan Park or booking a cabin or house in the Caravan Pk or township. It was felt by the committee that the Pondie camping ground was not an option due to ticks.

The date for this trip coincides with round one of the State Titles which are being held south of Adelaide. Much discussion took place about trip dates and our decision was based on three main factors;

1/  proximity of these dates to a full moon and hopefully good swell

2/  not having the trip on a long weekend when it may be crowded

3/  focusing on the social surfing culture of the club, rather than competition

<><><><><><><><><>

Welcome to the new look website.  I have used Nathan Ross's great ideas and moved them slightly to make the site easier for me to manage and hopefully easier for the user to read and find what they want.  Thanks to Nathan and PB for getting this Website started and all the work they have done on this site over the past few years.

The 2010 Calendar has been added, click on the Calendar link on the left side of this page to get to it.  Please note there are still some dates and venues to-be-advised, but well done to the Committee in getting this out so early.  Our next event is the Club Meet to be held on the 7th February 2010, meet at 7 am Seaford Carpark.  Come along, surf with some friends and have some fun.

A new Committee was appointed at the last AGM (see article below)

<><><><><><><><><>

NEW COMMITTEE

Following the AGM held 17th January 2010, a new committee was elected.  The new committee is as follows:

      Treasurer:                   Geoff Ferguson (aka Freddie)

Outgoing President Peg was thanked for his efforts during 2009 by all those present at the meeting.  (and I am sure by some of us who could not make it - onya Dan)
