Kneeboard Surfing Australia UPDATE Report by Phil Arthur (SA -Vice President KSA) - October 2009 Well folks, big changes are happening within the organisation. Gone are the days of a one-man band trying to keep the circuit going. Ken Stapleton single handedly kept kneeboarding alive in Australia and his passion for the sport is unquestionable. John Clingan has taken over after the disgraceful events that went down with the 2002 world titles and has done a great job to hold it all together. The one thing that has emerged from the AGM is that we are strong and committed as a group to keep kneeboarding alive in Australia and around the world. Whether you want to compete or just enjoy the art of what we do, we must stay strong together and try to promote our sport as best we can to create an avenue for young surfers to be exposed to kneeboarding. At the AGM it was voted to create three vice presidents and a surfers rep. We felt that it was important to let everybody know that we are fair dinkum about the role everybody on the committee has, and that by calling us state reps didn’t give justice to the importance of our jobs in the big scheme of things. As well as vice presidents creating a surfer’s rep position provided an avenue for kneelo’s to have a voice for genuine concerns and inquiries to be presented to the KSA. Whether you are competitive or not you have a voice. The KSA committee is as follows: President - John Clingan (0419 425 150) Vice Presidents – SA …… Phil Arthur (0412 811 945) Surfers Rep - Russell Smith (0403 648 759) So if you’ve got any concerns or questions ring and have a chat. Don’t forget to get on the KSA website and check out the latest pro comp write up. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> HOW FIGHTS START My wife and I were watching ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’, while we were in bed.
